The 6th Annual Ride for the Mounds Greenway goes virtual. In a two week window, from Saturday, September 12th through Sunday, September 27th, bicycle riders can show their support for the Mounds Greenway, outdoor recreation and river conservation in East Central Indiana by riding their bikes on local trails.

The event takes on a different format this year. In an abundance of caution, we are inviting riders to ride at their own pace, in their own space. The communal and social part of the ride will take place virtually this year. This means you can ride at your preferred time, with a small group. You can then post on social media and show your support for local businesses and organizations over the course of the two-week period in September. Use: #RFTM2020 and @MoundsGreenway.
The ride offers three suggested routes, all on paved trails with limited street crossings. These routes include a three-mile ride for new riders or families with small kids still learning to ride for distance. The three-mile route is an out-and-back from Chesterfield’s American Legion to the Mounds State Park entrance. Longer routes feature Anderson’s trail system along the White River and a Yorktown to Muncie route incorporating three adjacent trail systems including the Cardinal Greenway.

Prizes will be offered for best photos shared on social media using the hashtag #RFTM2020 and tagging @MoundsGreenway. Riders are encouraged to show support for local bike shops, restaurants, not-for-profits and others who support outdoor recreation, Indiana’s environment and the Mounds Greenway initiative.
We hope you’ll join us in supporting trails and a clean, free-flowing White River by taking this unique ride, our 6th annual Ride for the Mounds, and helping us make the Mounds Greenway a reality. And please keep an eye out for future updates from our team on the latest developments with the Mounds Greenway.
