At 79,096 square feet, the green roof atop the Joyce Center at Notre Dame is one of Indiana’s largest green roof installations. The green roof was designed to reduce stormwater infiltration, extend the life expectancy of the existing roof, provide natural building insulation, and save energy. The green roof consists of 25 different plant species and includes a rooftop irrigation system. Notre Dame is also home to 4 other green roofs.
