We’ve made environmental justice (EJ) an increasingly central part of our organization through our 2011 merger with the EJ-focused Legal Environmental Aid Foundation, which brought public interest attorney Kim Ferraro to our Staff; the launch of our 2016 Indianapolis Environmental Justice Initiative, led by Paula Brooks, a long-time community leader; and the 2019 merger with Improving Kids’ Environment, which led us to launch an EJ-focused Children’s Environmental Health Initiative, led by our Environmental Health Director, Dr. Indra Frank.
