Join ERI and the Center for Rural Engagement for a webinar discussing the Justice40 Initiative and the role equity and justice criteria play in evaluating community grant applications for sustainability and resilience funding. Announced by President Biden in January 2021, Justice40 is a whole-of-government approach mandating that at least 40% of the benefits of certain federal programs flow to disadvantaged communities. As federal agencies set the criteria to evaluate grant applications for various sustainability and resilience programs, understanding how Justice40 is being applied can boost applicants’ competitiveness. During the webinar, Matthew Tejada, the Deputy Assistant Administrator for the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights, will provide an overview of how the EPA is integrating environmental justice across the agency and the holistic community support system being developed. To stay informed about funding opportunities that can contribute to the sustainability and resilience of Indiana communities, subscribe to ERI’s local government newsletter.
