8th Street & Raible
White River Trailhead, Anderson
Indiana
Join the Hoosier Environmental Council and Mounds Greenway for a fascinating look at plants that grow along the White River in Madison County–led by Anderson resident and White River Shiatsu owner Josh Medlin–and learn which ones are edible and which can even be used to treat common ailments!
We will take a leisurely stroll down the trail, looking at some of the abundance of edible and medicinal wild plants that grow in our area. Many of the plants we will see will be common backyard plants and garden “weeds” while others are primarily found in woodland areas. We will discuss ID, harvesting, and uses of these plants as well as safe and ecologically responsible wildcrafting practices.
This free class is open to the public and presented as part of the 2021 Anderson Riverside Walks & Talks, a series of free classes, guided walks and talks along the White River and trails in the Anderson, Indiana area sponsored by White River Shiatsu, the Hoosier Environmental Council and the Mounds Greenway.
