On Tues., July 16 at 5:30 PM in the Jasper County Commissioners Room, the Jasper County Task Force, an advisory body that formed in response to the announced closure of the Schahfer coal plant in Wheatfield, will be presenting their list of recommendations to the County Council and Board of Commissioners. It’s important that community members are in attendance to weigh in on the future of Jasper County, one that must guarantee the health and wellbeing of the people and local environment. *This meeting is not hosted by the Beyond Coal Campaign.*

Before this meeting, we will be holding a pre-meeting mixer that is open to the public from 4-5 PM at the Fenwick Farms Brewing Company, 219 W. Washington St. This will be a great opportunity for us to connect about our vision for what we want to see for Jasper County. Appetizers will be included. Dinner and drinks are on your own.
