Coal ash, the toxic waste product of burning coal, is a forever pollutant that can cause cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory disease and developmental impacts in children. Indiana has started approving plans to leave millions of tons of this ash in the floodplains of Lake Michigan and Indiana’s rivers where it is contaminating groundwater, threatening those waterways, and endangering workers and communities. In the next few weeks, we have an opportunity to come together and turn this around by standing up for safe, permanent solutions for coal ash in Indiana. The time to act is NOW on the issue of coal ash!
On Thursday, Jan. 14th. At 6:30 PM Central/7:30 PM Eastern Time, join us for a virtual event over Zoom to discuss the 2021 State Legislative Session and what you can do to take action on coal ash.
Register in advance via tinyurl.com/CoalAshBillIN.
This event is completely free and open to the public.
