A light breakfast, featuring Traders Point Creamery yogurt, granola from Indiana Hemp Industries Association, and organic bananas from Green BEAN Delivery, as well as lunch from Indy Pita Pit, were served. Coffee was provided by Strange Brew  and water was provided by Indy Soft Water! Earth Mama Compost helped us compost food and service ware waste. Our promotional postcards were generously donated by Eco Owl Press.

This year’s Keynote Speaker for Greening the Statehouse was Melissa Mays, one of the most prominent advocates for clean water in the midst of the Flint, Michigan Water Crisis. Melissa’s and her colleagues’ tireless advocacy has been covered by numerous media outlets, including the New York Times, CNN, and BBC News.  You can watch a brief profile of Melissa in this profile.
