Greening Your Community: Michigan City

Come learn what you can do to help stop environmentally damaging bills being considered by Indiana legislators from becoming law this session at a Hoosier Environmental Council (HEC) “Greening Our Community” event hosted by Green Drinks in Michigan City. HEC’s Senior Staff Attorney, Kim Ferraro, will present “What the HEC is Happening at the Statehouse?” to provide attendees with a comprehensive update on 2017 legislative issues and priorities including the need to push back efforts to weaken regulation of factory farms and remove incentives for rooftop wind and solar. Kim will also lead a discussion on how to get involved in the legislative process and counter efforts of powerful industries, businesses, and lobbyists who want our lawmakers to serve their special interests roll back environmental protections.
Northwest Indiana Green Drinks in Michigan City will meet Thursday, February 16th, at 6:30 pm. Green Drinks in MC meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at Shoreline Brewery, 208 Wabash Street, in their reserved room. These events are sponsored by Save the Dunes and supported by 219 GreenConnect. Suggested donation is $5, $2 for students.
