Jobs & Internships

The Hoosier Environmental Council, Indiana’s leading, statewide environmental educator and advocate, consists of a team of eleven great full-time and part-time people.

Current Job Opening: Development Operations Director

In the summer of 2014, the Hoosier Environmental Council  hired a consultant to launch a new approach to individual fundraising.  Over the last several months, the approach has led to very encouraging results: more energetic fundraising, greater accountability, more timely messaging & expanded financial support.

HEC is seeking to recruit a part-time Development Operations Director (DOD) to sustain and expand this relatively new fundraising program.  The DOD’s main role would be to motivate and coach a team of two to three solicitors; the solicitors engage donors through phone, email, and direct mail — for financial support as well as to mobilize supporters around HEC’s priorities.

For Graduate, Law, and Undergraduate Students

HEC aims to recruit top quality law, graduate, and undergraduate students for its 2015 Summer Research Associate/Policy Internship program. This position is competitive as six to eight people are selected for the summer. Law/graduate students are known as “Research Associates” and undergraduates are called “Policy Interns”.

Interns working in the school year receive course credit & a recommendation from their supervisor; summer Policy Interns/Research Associates receive, in addition, a modest honorarium.
