The 2012 session might be finished, but candidates for public office and legislators who are not up for re-election are starting to wonder about the 2013 session.
Legislators are people too, and they want to know that their work is appreciated. Even if you disagree with their votes, now is the time to start building a relationship with your legislator, and the candidates who are running for office. A great way to kick off a new relationship with your legislator is to simply thank him/her for all of the hard work through the session!
Take a few minutes to thank your legislators for their work during the session. You can thank them for voting for stronger environmental policies, or you can express your disappointment that certain bills did not pass, and ask for these policies to be passed next year. Your legislators will know that you care about these issues then…and they’ll also know you’re paying attention to how they vote!
